Portsmouth Humane Society takes in pets displaced by Hurricane Irma


(ANITA) WE’VE BEEN FOLLOWING THE DAMAGE LEFT BEHIND FROM IRMA AND IT’S BEEN HEARTBREAKING. HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE ARE OUT OF THEIR HOMES. AND THAT MEANS – A LOT OF PETS WERE LEFT ON THEIR OWN. RIGHT HERE IN HAMPTON ROADS A LOCAL INITATIVE IS ALREADY IN MOTION TO MAKE ROOM FOR PETS IMPACTED BY THE STORM. 10 ON YOUR SIDE’S ERIN KELLY IS IN THE NEWSROOM WITH THOSE DETAILS. ERIN? (ERIN) THE PORTSMOUTH HUMANE SOCIETY JUST BROUGHT BACK ANIMALS FROM SOUTH CAROLINA, SO SHELTERS THERE CAN MAKE ROOM FOR THE PETS THAT MAY HAVE BEEN SEPARATED FROM THEIR FAMILIES IN THE HURRICANE.
