NWS Tulsa Weekend Weather Outlook (08/29/19)


Good afternoon from the National Weather Service in Tulsa. Here is a quick look at the weather forecast for the holiday weekend. Thunderstorms chances return to the forecast Friday morning and continue through Saturday. Flash flood watch late tonight into Friday morning. Temperatures are expected to be below normal. Mostly sunny labor day. A Flash flood watch is in effect from late tonight through Friday morning for portions of northeast Oklahoma. Rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches with locally higher amounts could lead to flooding of low lying areas. A Thunderstorm complex is expected to move through Eastern Oklahoma and western Arkansas Friday morning into early afternoon. Some storms could be strong to severe with damaging winds and large hail the concern. Dangerous heat index values will persist into Tuesday, with a Heat Advisory in effect for most of the area. Expect afternoon heat index values around 105 degrees. Low temperatures on Friday will be in the 60s to lower 70s. High temperatures will range from the upper 70s to around 90. Low temperatures on Saturday will range from the upper 60s to lower 70s. Highs will be in the lower 80s to around 90. Low temperatures on Sunday will range from the mid 60s to around 70. Highs will be in the mid 80s to lower 90s. Lows on Monday will be in the mid 60s to the lower 70s. Highs will be in the upper 80s to lower 90s.
