NTSB Investigating Light Rail Crash


RT IS SAYING IN THIS CASE IT WAS A VEHICLE THAT RAN A RED LIGHT. THEY ARE STILL INVESTIGATING. RIGHT NOW, NTSB INVESTIGATOR’S ARE ON THEIR WAY TO SACRAMENTO THANKS TO THE ACCIDENT FROM LAST NIGHT. THEY WILL INVESTIGATE THIS CRASH INVOLVING TWO LIGHT RAIL TRAINS. ONE OF THOSE TRAINS CRASHED INTO ANOTHER. THIS WAS BREAKING NEWS LAST NIGHT. SACK FIRE SAYS 27 PEOPLE WERE HURT. SOME WERE TREATED AND RELEASE. SO HOW ARE THE STRAINS TRACKED AND HOW SAFE ARE THEY. WE ARE LIVE IN NORTH SACRAMENTO WITH ANSWERS. BOTH OF THE TRAINS INVOLVED IN THIS CRASH ARE STILL OUT HERE. THAT IS BECAUSE THE NTSB CREW IS HEADING HERE RIGHT NOW FROM WASHINGTON DC. THEY WILL BE CONDUCTING THE INVESTIGATION. UNTIL THEY ARRIVE NOTHING WILL BE TOUCHED. CHAOS IN THE DARK AFTER A TWO CAR PASSENGER TRAIN CRASHES INTO A MAINTENANCE TRAIN SENDING PEOPLE FLYING OUT OF THEIR SEATS. THE GUY IN FRONT OF ME WAS FULL OF BLOOD. I TRIED THE BANDANNA AROUND HIS LEG. Reporter: 27 PEOPLE ON BOARD THE TRAINS AND ALL OF THEM ARE INJURED ACCORDING TO SACRAMENTO FIRE. 13 HAD TO BE RUSHED TO THE FIRE. ALL TRAINS ARE CONSTANTLY BEING MONITORED. THAT IS DONE THROUGH A CENTRAL DISPATCH AREA AND WE HAVE A TRAIN TRACK ARE THE TRACKS ON THE TRAINS THROUGH GPS.
