Neighbors Alert Neighbors of Mt. Lion Sighting

WELL — WE ESTABLISHED LONG AGO THAT MOUNTAIN LIONS ARE AMONG US. BUT THEY’RE STILL RARELY SEEN. PEOPLE LIVING IN SEVERAL NEIGHBOR HOODS IN NORTHWEST OMAHA ARE NOW ALERTING THEIR NEIGHBORS ABOUT THE LATEST SIGHTING. ERIN MURRAY IS ON CAT PATROL — LIVE — ERIN, JUST WHERE ARE WE TALKING ABOUT. ONE WAS SPOTTED HERE AT WEST MAPLE AND 180TH ON TUESDAY. THEY SAID IT CROSSED THE ROAD UP THERE AND WENT INTO ONE OF THESE FIELDS. THE TWO OTHER LOCATIONS ARE THAT PEOPLE SAY THEY SAW MOUNTAIN LIONS WAS NEAR 164TH AND MAPLE AND 175TH AND GEORGE MILLER PARK. MOST PEOPLE SAY THEY WERE SHOCKED TO SEE THE BIG CATS BUT ARE NOT OVERLY CONCERNED. JENNIFER KIMNACH: “OH YA KNOW I AM NOT LIKE SUPER WORRIED ABOUT IT OR ANYTHING, BUT IT IS JUST SOMETHING TO BE AWARE OF, AND THIS IS WHERE WE LIVE AND THEY DO COME THROUGH HERE AND IT IS SO TO TELL.” WE DID SPEAK TO POLICE AND THEY SAY WHEN YOU SEE A MOUNTAIN LION CALL THEM BECAUSE THEY CAN RESPOND TO THE AREA FASTER THAN NEBRASKA HUMANE SOCIETY. THEY ASSURE US THEY ALSO ALERT THE HUMAN SOCIETY WHEN THEY GET THOSE CALLS. THANK YOU!
