Reporter: SO BROOKS AND FIVE OTHER LONG ISLAND SENATORS RELUCTANTLY DID WHAT NATIONAL GRID HAS BEEN ANGLING MORE, SENDING A LETTER TO THE ESTATE DEPARTMENT OF CONSERVATION ASKING THEM TO APPROVE A CONTROVERSIAL NEW GAS PIPELINE, ONE THAT THE AGENCY HAS TWICE REJECTED ON ENVIRONMENTAL GROUNDS. THE INTNS TO ANGRY CUSTOMERS IS CALL ELECTED OFFICIALS IF YOU WANT US TO END OUR GAS MORATORIUM. OVER 2600 HAVE BEEN TOLD NO GAS UNTIL THE PIPELINE GETS THE GREEN LIGHT. THE COMPANY HAS A MONOPOLY TO SUPPLY GAS IN BROOKLYN AND QUEENS AND LONG ISLAND. EVERY NIGHT, I CAN’T SLEEP BECAUSE I THINK ABOUT THE RESTAURANT, NO GAS, AND MY DREAM, MY FUTURE, GONE. I HAVE BEEN A HOSTAGE FOR THREE MONTHS. Reporter: I ASKED THE STATE PUBLIC OF DONE — PUBLIC SERVICE TO INVESTIGATE. IF THE STATE DETERMINES THERE IS NO REAL SHORTAGE THE COMPANY SHOULD FACE HEFTY FINES. SINCE WE STARTED DEMANDING ANSWERS, STATE OFFICIALS HAVE FOUND THAT THE COMPANY IMPROPERLY DENIED GAS TO 32 HOMES AND APARTMENTS. WE HAVE REQUESTING AN ON-CAMERA INTERVIEW WITH NATIONAL GRID FOR TWO WEEKS NOW AND TODAY, OUR REQUEST WAS AGAIN DEY. ED.

So much for the green New Deal this is been the governor's plan all along the strangle the utility company so people will go to Electric but that's not the answer because the electric grid is overwhelmed as it is and cannot have no new hookups either the transmission lines across the country are severely strained much less the power lines in the city

  2. I'd immediately as the state assume responsibilities for delivering gas to the citizens and those guys would be barred from doing business in that field in that state permanantly. Hire whomever is needed to run the new state owned gas company. Problems solved.

  3. Isn't this illegal for a company to not provide utilities to the people (assuming they're paying the bills)? Especially to those run by authorities?
