METAdrasi – Action for Migration and Development 2019 Conrad N. Hilton Humanitarian Prize Recipient

[MUSIC PLAYING] Today I am speaking to
you from Athens, Greece with wonderful news. The recipient of the 2019
Hilton Humanitarian Prize is METAdrasi, action for
migration and development. METAdrasi was founded by veteran
humanitarian, Lora Pappa, in 2009. Its mission is to support
the reception and integration of refugees and migrants
with consistency, compassion, and flexibility. Tens of thousands of people are
parked on Europe’s doorsteps. In countries like Greece, why
1,000s of children are living in unforgivable
conditions in Europe? This prize represents a huge
encouragement for us all, and fill us with a desire to
dream bigger, and to do more. With the fund we are receiving
from the Hilton Foundation, we will expand [INAUDIBLE]
into the quality and the scope of our educational
programs for children. Their education is their
future and our future. From the first day
METAdrasi began, I was always told that we
couldn’t do this or that, and yet, each time we managed
to overcome obstacles. Through our
stubbornness, we have made the impossible possible. [MUSIC PLAYING] METAdrasi is a beautiful example
of an open-hearted and citizen action, and of a
concerted effort to help refugees, especially
children and youth, navigate that system. We offer our warm
congratulations to everyone at
METAdrasi on being selected as the 2019 Conrad
and Hilton Humanitarian Prize winner. [MUSIC PLAYING]

  1. We need to get names and addresses of people wanting to destroy Europe. Ropes are going to be useful to make NGO's swing on public places.
