Growing up safely thanks to the Tanzania Red Cross hospital’s paediatric ward.

I left Congo Fizi, a place called Nyangi. I came here with 4 children. When we arrived one of my children died, my first child. At 14, that was my first child. I was left with 5 children because my husband had died there in Mvita. I gave birth to more children, 5. And those 5 were born here. We appreciate the assistance we get here at the camp. because we can come here and can give birth in the hospital… it is because of these twins I underwent C-section, because I had difficulties. I thank God for the way the hospital here helped me. Then they later came to get tested and got diagnosed with sickle cell disease. The children actually receive treatment when they get sick here. because before they would get admitted even 4 times in a month but now they are able to go for perhaps a month and they do not have to be admitted. And it is because of that, I see the treatment is going well.
