Ethics in Public Service

as city managers we have to hold the public's trust and so ethics are such an important part of what we do I think there's a few simple rules and one is always to think about what's the best benefit for the public are what we used to call the public good and if you keep that in mind you can hardly go wrong with an ethical question that you face ethical conundrums need to be confronted with courage and with compassion for those who would be impacted by difficult decisions but I do accept my role and in setting the example that others would wish to follow it's your obligation as a city manager to also inspire others in the organization by your direct comments about how you deal with ethical dilemmas and remembering that it's not about me and it's not about the elected officials that I work with it's it's really about our community and about the needs and the interests of our citizens people are entrusting you with two very important things in their lives they're entrusting you with their money and they're entrusting you with giving them a voice in the way that their community runs people don't have a high opinion of government these days we need to do something about that and one way in which we do that is by everyday doing the right thing showing that we're a cycle in all of our job job proceedings I am constantly watched as a city manager by the public by the media the council members interest groups my staff everybody is watching to see how do I behave how do I treat others and I put in myself first in any case or am I always looking for what's good for the community we're not doing the right thing just when we're being watched we do the right thing when we're not being watched our citizens deserve good government and our job is to provide good government a big aspect of providing good government is that it be lawful and transparent it's my job to pull pull us out of the gray and back and back into the right and to make sure that everyone understands that you know we have a huge public trust and we need to ensure that at all times that public trust is never broken honesty integrity transparency and the ability to relate to your community I think all are combined to create that ethical environment in which we must operate being in public service is the highest of all call it driver and you have an obligation that comes along with that and an ethical obligation we have to fulfill every day as we carry out our duties as professional managers I am dancing I am Connie Jackson I am Jeff : I am Pat Martell I am a city manager I am a city manager I am a city manager I serve the people of Santa Monica I work for the city of San Bruno I work for the people of Daly City and I am a CC MF member I am a CCA member I am a CC MF member I am a CCM F member I am a CCM F member you

  1. NCDPS, courtesy of the NC GOVERNOR,  STEALS  the 1ST 11HRS  OVERTIME  FROM  NC CORRECTIONAL OFFICERS, thru their "LEGAL" BLACKMAILING SCAM.  Also known as "GAP PAY."
New officers inprocess and sign many papers of course. Except, this is one the officer should be informed of.  IF, they don't sign it, they can't be a NC Correctional Officer.  Those inprocessing the officers don't inform the new recruits that they are "voluntarily" signing away their 1st. 11 hrs overtime.
THIS IS  CORRUPTION and DISHONESTY at NC  STATE LEVEL.  I WASNT INFORMED when I inprocessed.  For 12 years,  I asked new officers arriving to work at Alexander Correctional Institution, a maximum security prison in NC, if they realized they signed away their 1st 11 hrs overtime into "straight time". NOT ONE OFFICER IN 12 YEARS WAS INFORMED. The state stole approximately $45,000 from me while employed. Imagine how much from all officers state wide. ALSO the new recruits FAILED TO READ THE PAPER. The dishonest inprocessing staff would never informed them. THIS IS A CORRUPT PRACTICE  designed to DECIEVE.  I always read everything before I sign, was the ONLY reason I found out. I asked, "IF,  I don't sign it, what happens"? She said, "THEN YOU CAN'T WORK FOR THE STATE AS A CORRECTIONAL OFFICER".
Blackmail is ..if/or…unless the State of NC does it.  HYPOCRISY at its  finest.  I signed it because I wanted to get in on their early vesting system, and I did.  And after 12 yrs service, I'm happily retired.  Even though the state screwed me, I turned it into a positive. Always been like that.
Two other southern states had this corrupt pay system removed thru a class action lawsuit.  Now its NC's  turn. NC's  ACTIONS  speaks for itself. THE NC STATE GOVERNOR and the NCDPS  OBVIOUSLY FEELS NC CORRECTIONAL  OFFICERS  ARE  NOT  WORTHY  OF A FULL CHECK.
Just straight time for that 1st 11hrs. overtime. SC is the same way. That's the Carolina way. Even though officers are injured daily and some pay the ultimate price with their life, NC STEALS THEIR MONEY TO THE LAST CHECK. The state goons, getting their "cut", from the blood spilled by their officers.
BUT REGARDLESS…STEALING is STEALING…no matter how much you "TWIST" the truth.
We also know "THERE WILL BE NO THIEVES IN HEAVEN". By their "fruits" you shall KNOW them.
So obviously, the NC State Governor  (GODFATHER)  and his GOONS (aka) NCDPS, FEEL STEALING OUR MONEY IS "WORTH" BURNING FOR ETERNITY IN THE LAKE OF FIRE for. Then…GOOD…so be it. JUSTICE WILL BE SERVED BY GODS RIGHTEOUS VENGEANCE for us.
There is nothing in this for me monetarily. Something far more important.  Being a voice for my fellow NC Correctional Officers behind the walls and "walking the beat".  You know, the ones being scammed out of their money and kept quiet by a corrupt prison system. Our NC GODFATHER and his GOONS are the biggest crooks in the state. And they are the ones in charge of the NC prison system. Crooks in charge of crooks. WHITE COLLAR CRIME, CORRUPTION AND HYPOCRISY AT ITS FINEST.    THATS THE CAROLINA WAY.
For their lies and their corrupt spin on this, call NCDPS  919-733-4080 or AXCI 828-632-1331. The more calls and public outcry from citizens, the better. Also we need to start a fund to pay for the class action lawsuit to beat this GREEDY and CORRUPT LAW and have it removed.  Need someone of course honest and cool with TRANSPARENCY of the collection.  Obviously the NC Godfather and his goons wouldn't meet our honest standards. We need someone with more class and higher standards than that.
I hope the general public and retired officers and other retired state staff and family and friends and past officers done wrong (many), will go to bat for our officers behind the walls that are blackmailed and can't speak up due to retaliation.   A class action lawsuit is definitely encouraged.
