David Metler – School of Human Ecology

♪♪ The School of Human Ecology at UW-Madison is a playground for your imagination and it encourages everyone who is a part of the community to be their whole selves. It’s not like other places where you have to leave a part of yourself at the door or feel like you can’t be truly who you are. I think as a grad student, you’re not just doing a thesis, you’re trying to figure out how to prepare for your career and for your future and it feels like a very people-centered culture and a school
that really values the path of each student and trying to figure out how to
connect them for their future. The School of Human Ecology is very focused on solving real social issues and complex issues and bringing together people and building collaborations to be able to affect things on a large scale. This whole place is beautiful and it’s magical here. I think that was my first experience when walked in and I was just like, this is a space allows you to be very mindful and focused so that you get here and you
have this sense of calm and it wouldn’t be possible without support from the private
donors to the School of Human Ecology. By far the magic of the school is in the people and thank you so much to everyone who has supported me and continues to
support me on this journey ♪♪
