THE SHELTER TELLS US THEY HAD TO THROW AWAY A LOT OF THEIR ITEMS INSIDE OF THEIR FACILITY SUCH AS DOG BEDS, TOYS AND OTHER VARIOUS ITEMS THAT THEY HAD DONATED TO THEM. THE SHELTER TELLS US IT WAS A HIGHLY CONTAGIOUS PARVOVIRUS THAT SHUT DOWN THEIR FACILITY. THIS VIRUS ONLY AFFECTS DOGS AND NOT CATS. SOME OF THEIR DOGS GOT SICK FROM IT AND EVENTUALLY ALL OF THEM HAD TO BE REMOVED FROM THE SHELTER FOR SAFETY REASONS.
