Bentonville Animal Shelter Update


STADIUM…..THE CITY IS WORKING TO MAKE SURE IT DOESN’T HAPPEN AGAIN. ACCORDING TO SUPERINTENDANT DOCTOR RICHARD PAGE–THE CITY INSPECTOR WILL CHECK OUT THE REMAINING LIGHT POLES TOMORROW. THIS COMES AFTER ONE OF FOUR METAL LIGHT POLES FELL DOWN LAST WEEK… FORTUNATELY NO ONE WAS INJURED. WE’RE TOLD THE LIGHT POLES WERE INSTALLED BACK IN 2006. THE STADIUM HAS BEEN SHUT DOWN AND LOCKED UP UNTIL IT’S INSPECTED. #### ((JENNIFER)) THE BENTONVILLE ANIMAL SHELTER COULD BE OWNED BY A THIRD PARTY AND SIT ON PRIVATE LAND. ON FRIDAY — THE CITY’S PET RESOURCE AND SERVICES STEERING COMMITTEE DISCUSSED THREE POSSIBLE OWNERSHIP MODELS. IF THE COUNCIL ADOPTS THE COMMITTEE’S RECOMMENDATIONS A THIRD PARTY WOULD LEAD THE DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION PROCESS. THE COMMITTEE HAS NAMED THE NATIONAL NON-PROFIT BEST FRIENDS ANIMAL SOCIETY AS A POSSIBLE OWNER.
