Animal Shelter Volunteer Finds Soothing Solution For Anxious Pets

AND WATCHED IT RUN OFF. THE INSIDE OF THE CAR WAS TRASHED. WILD AND DOMESTIC WE LOVE OUR ANIMALS IN COLORADO. RECENTLY A VOLUNTEER AT THE ANIMAL SHELTER HATCHED A PLAN TO MAKE THE GUESTS THERE MORE COMFORTABLE. KELLY WORTHMAN LEARNED HE FOUND OUT THE ANSWER TO THE AGE-OLD QUESTION, WHAT KIND OF MUSIC DO DOGS AND CATS LIKE? Reporter: ANIMAL SHELTERS CAN BE A NOISY PLACE. DOGS BARKING IN FEAR AND CONFUSION, WAITING FOR A FOREVER HOME. JEFF KNOWS THAT NERVOUS NOISE WELL. HE HAS VOLUNTEERED AT THE FOOTHILLS ANIMAL SHELTER FOR FIVE YEARS AND CAME UP WITH A PLAN TO HELP THE DOG’S HE CARES FOR. IT WAS LIKE THIS, TRIGGER, IDEA, IT WAS FORGET FOR ME TO TAKE ON. JEFF REMEMBERED A STUDY ABOUT PLAYING MUSIC TO KEEP DOGS CALM. HE STARTED A FUND FUNDRAISER TO GET A SOUND SYSTEM INSTALL FLOOD IT TOOK 1 1/2 YEARS BUT IT WAS WELL WORTH IT. NOT JUST ANY MUSIC NOW PLAYING FOR THESE PUPS. JEFF SAYS STUDIES SHOW DOGS PREFER CHILLING OUT TO REGGAE. SO, WE STARTED OFF PLAYING REGGAE MUSIC THROUGH THE WHOLE SHELTER AND THE CATS DID NOT LIKE IT. SOOTHE CATS WAITING TO BE ADOPTED THE SHELTER PLAYS A PERFECT SELECTION OF CLASSICAL TUNES. I THINK THE CATS WOULD LIKE REGGAE IF WE GAVE THEM CATNIP. PLAYING CLASSICAL IS NOT JUST CALMING FOR CATS RELAXING MUSIC AROUND THE SHELTER IS BENEFICIAL FOR HUMANS, TWO. THE STAFF SAYS THE HEALING SOUNDS RELAX PEOPLE WHO MAY BE ANXIOUS TO FIND A FURRY FRIEND. HUMANS ARE MORE CALM AND RELAXED AND THEN THE ANIMALS WILL BE, TOO. EVERYONE IS CALMER THE STAFF SAY MORE ANIMALS ARE LIKELY TO BE ADOPTED. GOOD GIRL. THAT IS PRECISELY WHAT THIS HUMAN SET OUT TO DO. IF I CAN TAKE IT DOWN ONE LITTLE NOTCH AND HAVE THE DOGS BE A LITTLE MORE CALM AND HAPPY
